Any More Room On Your Keychain23 January 2005
Frank D'Angelo, senior vice president for the payments solutions group of M&I's Metavante subsidiary based in Brown Deer, said students do not always carry their credit cards and the smaller cards would make it easier for them to do so.
“They may not have a wallet or purse with them. But they either have a dorm key or car keys that this mini card can be attached to. So it's in their pocket,” D'Angelo said.
Clout has sent a regular-sized credit card and a mini card to 10,000 new student and young adult customers, said Bernie Pasierb, that firm's president and chief executive.
It will initially be impossible to tell whether the group that received both sizes of cards used the mini card for more purchases. But if total use in that group is higher than those who received only the regular-sized card, Clout will delve deeper to into whether the convenience of the card made the difference.
