ARI Deploys Enhanced Business-to-Consumer Shopping Cart 3.0

22 February 2005

ARI (OTCBB:ARIS), a leading provider of electronic parts catalogs and related technology and services to increase sales and profits for dealers in the manufactured equipment markets, announced today the deployment of WebsiteSmart's(TM) enhanced Business-to-Consumer Shopping Cart Version 3.0. WebsiteSmart, ARI's template-based website creation software, now includes a more comprehensive Shopping Cart that supports real-time credit card processing, improved part information synchronization and an interface to Business Management Systems.

Since ARI's WebsiteSmart was originally deployed, ARI has worked with dealers to determine what additional features and functionality should be added to ensure that WebsiteSmart continues to evolve and meets both dealer and consumer needs.

"With more dealers using the Internet to increase exposure and traffic for their dealerships, the addition of real-time credit card processing will make WebsiteSmart an even more effective way to increase sales and profits," said Brian E. Dearing, chairman and chief executive officer of ARI. "Critical to the success of a dealer's website is the ability to display up-to-date parts and pricing information. Shopping Cart's improved part information synchronization and Business Management System interface makes that easier to do," added Dearing.

"We couldn't be more pleased with WebsiteSmart," said Rob Frank, Chagrin Pet, Garden & Power Equipment, Chagrin Falls, CA. "Having this website with all of our products and parts available to the world is like opening a new showroom on every street corner on the planet," added Frank.

"With more and more customers researching and purchasing products over the Internet, our WebsiteSmart software adds real value to the dealer's business. It meets the needs of customers who prefer the ease and convenience of being able to go online to find the specific product or part they need and immediately order it from the dealership's virtual sales desk and parts counter," added Dearing.

ARI's WebsiteSmart was designed exclusively for dealers to provide them with an easy to use, low-cost tool to create a professional and attractive website for their dealership. WebsiteSmart offers dealers a complete package that includes Internet hosting services, e-mail, professional design templates, promotional capabilities, whole goods listing, links to OEM Web catalogs, installation and support, and 24x7 online ordering. The package also includes support for news events, sales and specials, photo galleries and an exclusive contact tracking manager.

"Our suite of products and services, including PartSmart(TM), WebsiteSmart, Shopping Cart, ARI MailSmart(TM) and ARI ServiceSmart(TM) were designed specifically to help dealers increase sales and profits," added Dearing. "Used together, these tools are a powerful combination that helps dealers grow their business and better serve their customers," concluded Dearing.

Shopping Cart 3.0 includes:

Real-time Credit Card Processing. Shopping Cart 3.0 now allows dealers to process credit card transactions online in real-time. Shopping Cart will validate and authorize the consumer's credit card number, expiration month and year and, as an option, the credit card verification code. In addition, Shopping Cart 3.0 will allow the consumer to re-enter credit card information if the card is declined during the validation process.

Business Management System (BMS) Interface. The new interface feature will allow a dealer's BMS to automatically update prices in Shopping Cart. Using a simple utility, dealers will be able to schedule price updates for manufacturer price lists that they subscribe to. The updates will occur in the background at a time that is selected by the dealer. The interface between ARI's Shopping Cart application and the BMS takes advantage of the existing PartSmart interface and requires no changes to the current code.

Part Information Synchronization. Dealers will now be able to retrieve price/part information that is being stored on the ARI Shopping Cart server. This information can be imported into third party applications such as Microsoft Excel for further processing.
