Aventail Launches Updated Version of Remote Access Controller

Advanced Microsoft Active Directory (AD) Support for increased leverage of an organization's AD implementation. ST2+ adds support for searching AD for nested groups, for example. Aventail's SSL VPN can integrate and leverage all the directory structure that an organization has implemented in AD. "With this release of the updated ST2+, Aventail continues to lead the market with the easiest secure remote access controller on the market," said Chris Witeck, Director Product Marketing, Aventail. ST2+ adds many advanced features designed to provide additional benefits in three key areas that: detect the identity and security of the end point; protect applications through granular access controls; and connect users securely to applications. Aventail ST2+ is the only remote access controller with universal access through one gateway, a seamless user experience, and central management for all access methods. Aventail SSL VPNs, running the ST2+ platform, secure access from devices running Windows, Windows Mobile, Linux, and Macintosh, and enable complete reach to all network resources with granular policy and bidirectional access controls.


Availability and Pricing


Aventail ST2+ platform will be generally available in late November 2006, distributed via Aventail's worldwide channel of resellers and service providers. Pricing starts at $3,995 for the Aventail EX-750, a full-featured SSL VPN appliance tailored to small to mid-sized enterprises; $9,995 for the Aventail EX-1600, an enterprise-class solution tailored for mid-sized enterprises; and $22,995 for the Aventail EX-2500, a scalable, enterprise-class solution, integrating high availability and load-balancing support.
