New THINK Enterprise Update Expands Subscription Payment Options For Publishers, Media and Software-As-Service Companies

13 November 2005

THINK Subscription (www.thinksubscription.com) today announced THINK Enterprise Santa Fe “Update 7,” a major enhancement to its industry-acclaimed subscription management and fulfillment software that makes it easier than ever to market and sell subscription-based products. With the latest payment options, THINK Enterprise Santa Fe provides publishers, media and software companies greater flexibility in the way customers can pay for goods sold by subscription.

Paul Russell, Vice President of Engineering at THINK Subscription, said, “With the introduction of our new PayPal integration, subscription-based businesses can now tap into PayPal’s unique payment network with more than 78 million customer accounts.” Additionally, Update 7 includes THINK Enterprise’s new “Payment Accounts” feature and ICEDIS compliance for IP Ranges.
PayPal Integration
THINK Enterprise continues to increase payment options by leveraging its industry-leading Web Service Interface. The new service integrates PayPal’s Express Checkout and Pre-approved Payment features. PayPal’s Express Checkout mechanism is used for one-time payments allowing web developers to provide a “PayPal” payment option in addition to current credit card payment options.. PayPal’s Pre-approved Payments mechanism allows businesses to establish a recurring billing agreement with a PayPal user. This mechanism meets the needs of subscription-based businesses that require auto-renew and auto-payment capabilities.
Payment Accounts
THINK Enterprise Santa Fe can store an unlimited number of Payment Accounts for each customer. The new payment account feature allows subscription businesses to store multiple credit cards or direct debit accounts per customer. Payment accounts can be used for one time payments or for orders requiring automatic payments and installment plans.
ICEDIS Compliance
In addition to new payment options, Update 7 implements new ICEDIS standards for the importation of IP ranges. The International Committee on EDI for Serials (ICEDIS) committee has updated the import standard to include the need for importation of IP ranges. THINK has updated the capabilities of the Import Module to meet this new requirement.
