Northwest Mortgage Brokerage Pioneers New Business Model for the Mortgage Industry

21 February 2006

With rates holding steady and many proclaiming to be "pros in the lending industry," there seems to be a mortgage shop around every corner. The days of quality control and customer care sometimes seem far and fading.

The Lending Team, Inc. a brokerage firm in Eugene, Oregon is taking pioneering steps towards a new and exciting business model. This year, it began to market its new Referral Center as a central place of getting (and giving) referral business to its registered affiliates. So far this year, it has procured and turned over 2,000 leads to the team of fifteen loan officers. Those leads will be interviewed, qualified and then referred to affiliates in the insurance and real estate industries.

"This is only the beginning." states Tom Griffith, Visionary and Founder of The Lending Team, Inc. "Everyone knows that this business is about relationships; therefore, starting February 1st, the Referral Center introduced its very own Ambassador." Stacie Sisk, a formal marketing representative with a local title company, landmarks the company's first position of official Ambassador. "The idea is to build bridges and take our Realtor relations to the next level." shares Griffith. "Our Ambassadors will be in charge of ensuring the Referral Center's affiliates get VIP treatment and optimum support."

Stacie, who has worked in Realtor relations for the last four years, finds this a natural fit for the lending industry. "My experience tells me that when a Realtor gets the best support in marketing and transaction administration, they will do more business." she states. "We now have various marketing and print company affiliates as well as associate members of the REVA Network (Real Estate Virtual Assistants). I plan to raise the awareness level of the added values of doing business with The Lending Team." she explains. "I'll also be able to help the company maintain a level of quality control by serving as a sounding board for Realtors regarding transaction difficulties."

Needless to say, many of the Loan Officers are ecstatic about the new developments. "As lending consultants, we can now focus on delivering the best information to our clients. Many independent loan officers can't always deliver the personal attention they'd like because they have to go out and market themselves in order to get more business. Ambassadors will make our job of marketing and promoting ourselves easier." shares Laurie Willis, a Loan Advisor who has been with the firm since its inception three years ago.
