PortAuthority Technologies, Inc., a provider of Information Leak Prevention (ILP), and Safend, an international provider of endpoint security, have announced a partnership to expand content-aware, policy-based data protection beyond the gateway to desktops and endpoints. Leveraging this joint solution, organizations can prevent the unauthorized dissemination of sensitive data over virtually all network and endpoint communication channels. PortAuthority's PreciseID technology provides a solution to monitor and prevent information leaks of internal and external network channels, including MS-Exchange, network printing, SMTP/ESMTP, HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, and IM. Based on Digital Membrane technology, Safend Protector controls data access from the physical and wireless ports of all enterprise endpoints, including USB, FireWire, WiFi, Bluetooth, Infrared (IrDA), and CD/DVDs as well as portable media players and U3 drives. The Safend Protector 3.0 delivers complete visibility and granular control over all enterprise endpoints. Safend's security solutions protect organizations from information leakage, malicious attacks and penetration, while offering auditing capabilities over the physical and wireless ports of enterprise PCs and laptops. The joint PortAuthority-Safend solution is currently available from the companies and their respective channels. An integrated content-aware endpoint ILP solution is planned for availability by the end of 2006.
