SourceMedia's 9th Annual Mortgage Technology Conference Attracts Industry Experts

The leading lenders and vendors in themortgage industry received the latest information on how to navigate therapidly-changing automation environment at SourceMedia's 9th AnnualMortgage Technology Conference held in Miami, Feb 5 - 7, 2006 at theFontainebleau Resort.


The two-and-a-half day conference was kicked off by Ed Albrigo, SVP ChangeManagement, Freddie Mac, who discussed the changing industry and howinstitutions should take appropriate action. Immediately following,Mortgage Cadence sponsored a Super Bowl Preview and Networking Reception.


Mark Fogarty, SourceMedia's Mortgage Group editorial director and chairmanof the conference, gave opening remarks Monday morning, followed by CIO ofNational City, Joseph McCartin's Keynote Address. McCartin discussed thenew landscape of lending technology, citing real-life examples from hisexperience. Additional speakers included Kathy Cummings, SVP seniorService Delivery manager, Bank of America Consumer Real Estate on "MortgageIndustry Trends;" John Tenuta, division president, Fiserv, "e is now aconstant value in mortgage lending equations;" and William Adamowski, CEO,MortgageHub and Galen Hain, VP of software development, GMAC CommercialMortgage, "Leveraging emerging technologies for a competitive edge."

Fogarty said, "This conference was designed to bring the best technologicalpractitioners together in panel discussions and breakout sessions to shareideas, best practices, techniques and trends and to have them discuss theoverall state of the mortgage industry. The lender-vendor panels providedinteractive dialogue between participants and the audience."


The conference offered two tracks for attendees; the eMortgage Trackchaired by Anthony Garritano, managing editor, Mortgage Technology magazineand the Technology Track chaired by Craig Focardi, TowerGroup. Each trackincluded industry experts in a panel setting discussing topics such as"Taking point-of-sale automation further," "Creating a truly collaborativeworkflow," "Fraud/ID Theft" and "Technology integration and open standards;what you need to know."


According to attendees, the conference presented them with the knowledge tofurther leverage technology for their strategic efforts as well as thebusiness intelligence, industry insights and first hand information on howto put those practices into place. It also provided an opportunity tolearn more about industry trends and discuss practical business strategiesand solutions from the experts.
