Students Turn to Federal Stafford Student Loans for Complete Education Financing

22 May 2006

Quincy, MA (PRWEB) May 21, 2006 -- With college financial aid offices mailing out Federal award letters for the upcoming 2006-07 school year, students are using www.StaffordLoan.com, from The Student Loan Network, to apply online for their Stafford Loan, to learn more and to gain valuable insight into the Federal Financial Education Loan Program (FFELP). Even though most schools don't certify the Stafford Loans until summer time, many are getting a head start and applying now so that they aren't scrambling at the last minute.

The Federal Student Aid program assists more than 10 million students each year in the form of grants, work study funds, and low-interest loans. The Stafford Loan program is one type of loan, in particular, that allows both undergraduate and graduate students to borrow subsidized - the government pays the interest while students are enrolled in school - Loans.

More good news for students? They might also be able to receive more this year than in prior years. Depending on the information provided when filing a FAFSA, undergraduates can borrow up to $2,625 for their first year, up to $3,500 for their second year and up $5,500 for the third and fourth year. Graduate programs, which are typically more expensive, have a limit of up to $18,500 per academic year.

«With a quick and easy online application, StaffordLoan.com helps students get one step closer to receiving these necessary funds,» explains Katie Dexter of StaffordLoan.com. «Upon applying online, students can print and mail a pre-filled application to the specific location then wait for funds to be disbursed. It's so easy that it makes the financial aid process less stressful as it is overwhelming.»

StaffordLoan.com also provides access to many other forms of financial aid assistance. While the Stafford Loan is a great base to helping pay for college, it often falls short of the total cost of education, which includes books, room and board, specific college or university related costs and transportation. «Often times,» says Ms. Dexter, «Stafford Loans fall short of what student's actually need. We understand this and help provide Federal Parent PLUS loans, scholarships, and private loans. In addition, graduates can utitlize our consolidation services and save money on paying back college debt.»

Students, parents, and families interested in private student loans are encouraged to visit www.StaffordLoan.com or call toll-free 877-328-1565 for more information and an application.
