United States Organizations for Bankruptcy Alternatives (USOBA) Announces Attorney Dave Aronberg as Guest Speaker at Summer Conference in Denver, Colo

11 June 2006

(PRWEB) June 9, 2006 -- Senator Aronberg will be covering Florida Debt Management Law and the recent actions taken by Attorney General Crist against debt settlement companies. He will discuss the importance and impact that the recent actions may have on the debt settlement and negotiation industry.

Dave is a Florida native that attended public schools before going off to Harvard for college, then Harvard Law School, where he graduated with honors in 1996. While working for a large Florida law firm in Miami and West Palm Beach, Aronberg provided free legal work to indigent domestic violence victims.

In 1997, he worked closely with Insurance Commissioner (now U.S. Senator) Bill Nelson to investigate European insurance companies that refused to honor World War II-era policies sold to victims of the Holocaust. In 1999, Aronberg left his law firm to work full-time for Florida consumers as an Assistant Attorney General for economic crimes. He is best known for heading the State of Florida's lawsuit against «Miss Cleo,» the «Jamaican Shango Shaman psychic» who had become an international celebrity among late-night television viewers.

In 2000, Aronberg was selected to be one of 15 White House Fellows from across the country. In this non-partisan position, Aronberg served in both the Clinton and Bush Administrations as Special Assistant to the Secretary of the Treasury Department for international money laundering.

In 2001, Aronberg returned home to South Florida to work with the Attorney General. He was elected to the Florida Senate in November 2002, and represents a diverse district that stretches from eastern Palm Beach County through Glades, Hendry and Charlotte Counties to Fort Myers and Bonita Springs on Florida's west coast. He joined Greenspoon Marder in May 2003 and specializes in consumer protection law and local government law.

Additional guest speakers include: Attorney, Jeff Tenenbaum - Venable, LLC, Colorado NCCUSL Representative, Don Mielke, Michael Wahlster - JurisVenture PC, Leslie Linfield - Institute For Financial Literacy, Robby Birnbaum - Greenspoon Marder, Douglas A. Crowder Esq., and more.
